Rancher Oracle is a hosted RAG service by Pastures that provides AI diagnostics grounded in 48,000+ real issue resolutions from 13 SUSE/Rancher repositories.

What Oracle provides

Compared to free mode (BYO model), Oracle adds:
  • Grounded diagnostics — Answers are derived from real K3s, Rancher, RKE2, Harvester, and Longhorn issue resolutions, not general LLM knowledge
  • Source citations — Each diagnostic links to the specific GitHub issues that informed the fix
  • Fleet correlation — Identifies patterns across clusters experiencing similar issues
  • Fix verification — Monitors whether a suggested fix actually resolved the problem

Get an API key

Sign up

Visit pastures.farm/pricing and select a plan.

Copy your API key

After signing up, copy your API key from the dashboard.

Configure in Pastures

In Rancher, navigate to Pastures → Settings and enter:

Test the connection

Click Test Connection in Settings. A successful test confirms the Engine URL and API key are valid.

Verify it’s working

After configuration, open the AI diagnostics drawer from any cluster page. Run a diagnostic — the response should include:
  • A Sources section with GitHub issue links
  • Severity classification and confidence scoring
  • Recommended fix steps grounded in the corpus
If you see generic responses without source citations, double-check that your API key is valid and the Engine URL is set to https://api.pastures.farm.
