Pastures is an open-source Rancher UI extension that adds AI-powered diagnostics, fleet intelligence, and operational tooling directly into Rancher Manager.

What is Pastures?

Pastures extends Rancher with capabilities that don’t exist in the base platform:
  • AI diagnostics grounded in 48,000+ real K3s, Rancher, RKE2, and Harvester issue resolutions
  • Fleet intelligence with health scoring, drift detection, and version tracking
  • GPU fleet management for AI/ML workloads across clusters
  • Harvester HCI integration for VM lifecycle management
  • Security posture via CIS benchmarks and NeuVector integration
  • Operations tooling for etcd backup, upgrade risk assessment, and audit logging
The extension is a pure UI client — it contains zero proprietary logic. All AI capabilities come from either the hosted Rancher Oracle service or your own model via any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

The extension is licensed under Apache 2.0. The repository is at github.com/pastures-farm/pastures-rancher. The Rancher Oracle backend service is a paid hosted offering. The extension itself is fully open and works with any OpenAI-compatible model provider.
